7:30-8:30 a.m. — Agency: Prevent Mistakes that Keep You from Getting Paid

You know all about agency, but do your buyers know what’s expected when they sign a representation agreement? Do they know when they go to an open house that they need to tell the listing agent about their representation? Do they know to tell other agents they already have a REALTOR®? In this class, we will provide easy ways to educate your buyers about their obligations so they don’t inadvertently jeopardize your commission.

8-10 a.m. — Tax and Legal Strategies for REALTORS®

What are you doing to protect your hard-earned assets from taxes and potential lawsuits? Chances are you could do much more to protect your money. This class will teach you how to significantly cut your taxes and how to set up the strongest asset protection barricade possible. Plus, you’ll learn wealth-building strategies to put you on the road to a prosperous retirement.

(for local board executive officers)

The National Association of REALTORS® will require all local boards to meet new, core standards starting in 2015. This class will teach you what will be expected and how to ensure your board is compliant. Plus, learn the latest information on association management to help you run your organization more effectively.

9-10 a.m. — MLS Boot Camp

This hands-on class will guide you through three REALTOR® activities: property searching, auto hot sheets and comparative market analyses. This course is designed for the REALTOR® who wants a quick immersion into learning the MLS’s client tools.

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. — Grand Assembly/Live Consumer Panel

Consumers are talking, but they don’t always give you their brutally honest feedback. Get an unfiltered look into your clients’ minds to see exactly what they think of you through our live panel. Find out what consumers really value, how they choose an agent, what marketing stands out versus what’s invisible, what frustrates them, and their view of the agent’s role. Use insights from this unique panel to learn exactly what you need to do to cultivate client relationships.

2:30-3:30 p.m. — Marketing with Social Media

With so many social media options available — and new ones added every day — which are most effective for connecting with consumers? In this class, learn about the latest trends and opportunities for social media marketing — where you should dedicate your prospecting efforts and what sites are not worth the time invested. Use this class to craft a doable strategy for building online relationships.

2:30-3:30 p.m. — Closing Best Practices

Have you completed everything that needs to be done before settlement and closing? Here are the steps you need to take to ensure your clients have a positive settlement experience. Topics include follow-up on repairs, title and hazard insurance, financing, possession, closing statements and more.

What do customers think of Utah REALTORS®? Learn all about consumers as we detail the findings from the brand-new Utah Association of REALTORS® Survey of Home Buyers and Sellers. Find out satisfaction levels, those they trust for real estate information, how they found their agent and much more. Plus, we will distribute a written report with all the findings for your reference.

4-5 p.m. — Forms Update: New Residential Lease and Leaseback
